The number of violations of the maximum residue limits (MRLs) for plant protection products in fruit and vegetables is decreasing. This is due to strict checks on products or on importing countries where excess residues have been detected in the past. This decrease is primarily the result of fewer violations of the limits for products coming from outside Europe. Dutch fruit and vegetables are cleaner than imported products.
