Turnover of garden plants 5.5% higher |

According to Royal Floraholland, turnover of garden plants grown in The Netherlands increased further the past months. In August, turnover growth was slightly lower (3%) and in September higher (9%) than the growth over the first seven months, maintaining the growth rate of 5.5%. In August and September, auction turnovers of cutflowers grown in The Netherlands remained almost at the same level as last year for these months. Supply was lower but averages prices were higher. Turnover of house plants over the first nine months was 4% higher than in the same period last year. For August and September, turnover was scarcely different from last year. Based on information from Floridata, VGB reported that the export of flowers and plants increased further in the past months. September saw an increase in exports of both flowers and plants of more than 4%. Exports to the United Kingdom decreased, whereas exports to Germany increased. |
