The farm-gate price developments of products between 2016 and 2017 vary widely and are related to production circumstances, international market developments and crises. Considerably higher prices were found almost throughout livestock farming, varying from +28% for eggs to +10% for fattening pigs. Considerably lower prices were found in the horticulture under glass sector for cucumbers and peppers than in 2016, whereas ornamentals received higher prices. For other products, the decrease in the price of ware potatoes (-41%) is noteworthy, as is the increase for apples (+40%) and pears (+25). On the cost side, in 2016 the prices for feed and natural gas increased. The income developemnt is strongly dependent on the product prices. |
